SunStone Conservation
Advancing Greener Cruising

The highlight of INFINITY class is, of course, the One of SunStone’s key areas of focus over the past year has been the development of initiatives to save fuel and reduce pollution. One significant area SunStone is evaluating is the development of new propellers/propeller hub rudders on vessels. This one change can reduce fuel usage by between 6-9%.

Another initiative to significantly reduce fuel consumption is being reviewed that includes a list of more than 60 items compiled for review – from the ballasting of the ship, to turning off pumps and equipment not in use, changing light bulbs to LED bulbs, etc., which can result in savings in excess of 4% on an annualized basis.
